The brief was deeply personal. Our client wanted to honour their late mother — a passionate gardener — through a garden of her own.
We designed a sweeping, organic curved bed wrapping the front of the home, defined by Corten steel edging and finished in bark mulch. A sculptural specimen tree anchors the composition, layered with hardy NZ natives — flaxes, tussock grasses and groundcovers — chosen to thrive in Closeburn's exposed alpine climate.
Stepping stones thread through the bed, inviting people in. Every plant was hand-placed and back-filled, with room to mature. We finished with a custom aftercare manual so the family knows exactly how to look after it through every season.
“A garden built to remember, designed to endure.”
